Curriculum Guide
Thornhill School is justly proud of its individualised and personalised curriculum enabling all pupils to achieve.
KS3
In years 7 and 8 all pupils broadly follow the National Curriculum studying the following subjects:
- English
- Mathematis
- Science
- ICT
- Art
- Design and Technology
- Geography
- History
- Modern Foreign Languages
- Music
- Physical Education
- Religeous Education
KS4
In years 9, 10 and 11 puils follow a range of differentiated pathways. These pathways involve fully academic and vocational courses. All pupils, however, study the following subjects:
- English Language and Literature
- Mathematics
- Science
- Triple Science
- Double Science
- Single Science
- Business and Communication Studies
- History or Geography
- Physical Education
- Personal, Development Learning and Religeous Education
Pupils then select from a wide choice of GCSE's and BTEC's qualifications.
A particularly strong contribution to this progress is made by the outstanding, well planned curriculum designed to meet pupils’ individual interests and aptitudes.
