Sunderland Training Farm

As part of the Working Lunch programme, pupils interested in working with animals attended a talk delivered by the Sunderland Training & Education Farm. The Farm offers fun activities for children of all ages and is located in the city. They now offer full-time college courses in animal care, veterinary nursing, land-based operations and equine management to 16-18 year olds. They visited the pupils to explain about the programmes they offer and to answer questions about what it is like to work with animals. They brought with them some of their “customers” – a guinea pig, a very large snake and a rabbit that the pupils affectionately named Bonny the Bunny!

If anybody else would like to find out more information about the courses and training programs offered by the Farm they can visit www.sunderlandfarm.co.uk or see Mrs Crane for an information leaflet.
