Blue Peter Badges

Year 7's at Thornhill have achieved the ultimate badge of honour by receiving their very own Blue Peter badges! They wrote their own letters in a Learn to Learn lesson with their Head of House Mr Leadbeater. After the Easter break many of the pupils had received their badges which allows them free access to 200 Blue Peter Badge Attractions in the UK.

They join a select group of people across Britain, including such luminaries as David Beckham, JK Rowling and the Queen, who have been awarded Blue Peter badges since 1963. Now they have received their blue badges, the year 7 pupils can now apply for more badges, such as The Green Badge for doing good things for the environment. The ultimate goal is the rare Blue Peter Gold badge, Blue Peter's highest award given for exceptional achievement.

As this was all part of a skilled literacy lesson, the students now know more about writing letters and this award gives them something they can all treasure for the rest of their lives!
