Before the World Cup begins, Thornhill Boys Year 9 team have been able to bring some positive football news to the school with their tremendous soccer success.
Guided by the ever resourceful Mr Wilson, doyen of football coaches, the team were joint league winners this season, sharing the title with St Aidan’s school. Their final game was actually a thrilling 2-2 draw with St Aidan’s in a winner takes all situation. Unfortunately for the Thornhill lads, they were winning 2-1 but were pegged back in the final five minutes and the title was shared on the night.
As the Brazil bun-fight kicks off, it's good to know that success on the football pitch is already assurred! We look forward to the boys stepping up a gear next year, and delivering more silverware to the school.
