On Wednesday 31st October, we celebrated our school Harvest Festival. Over the weeks leading up to the festival, pupils and staff had donated gifts of food to be distributed to Age UK Sunderland and our local foodbank. The food was displayed on the harvest table on the evening of the festival and over 1,600 items were kindly received by the two charities (more than double the number donated last year).
There were some fantastic performances and readings from our year 7 pupils, our dance group ‘Underestimated’ and solo performances from Ross Nunn (piano), Rhiane Finley (who sang Alleluia) and Leah Liddle (who sang Wings). Andy Osenton from Wearside Youth For Christ was our guest speaker who had some of our year 7 pupils up on stage playing games that all linked in with the message of gratitude in his speech.
The grand finale saw all of our year 7 pupils sing a fantastic rendition of ‘Stand by me’. It truly was a night to remember!
