Inspiring Information, Advice and Guidance
Thornhill School has been successful in achieving Stage 1 of Inspiring IIAG, a national quality award that is awarded to schools and colleges in recognition of their commitment to delivering quality careers education and guidance to their pupils. The award is nationally validated by The Quality in Careers Standard.
Stage 1 has involved the school auditing our careers education and guidance programme and writing an action plan to enable us to meet the standards required in six categories: Management and Leadership, Design and Delivery of CEIAG, Working with Partners, Information and Communication, Outcomes for Young People and Involving Parents/Carers.
In writing to congratulate the school on the award of Stage 1, Jane Wilkinson of the IIAG Management Group said “On behalf of the Inspiring IAG Management Group may I offer my congratulations on achieving the first stage of Inspiring IAG and look forward to working with Thornhill School Business and Enterprise College in the future.”
We will now move on to Stage 2 of the award which will require us to continue to build upon the good work that we already do in Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance in school and to put into practice the improvements that we have identified on our action plan. We hope to achieve the full Inspiring IAG quality award by the summer term of 2017.
