We recently were contacted by Jean Sandilands, a local lady who gives up lots of her free time to supporting an Indian orphanage call Shekinah House, based in India . She asked if the school had any unwanted football kits that could be donated for the children to use in India.

We were more than glad to help, and Neil Wilson from the PE department was able to source old football kits that were no longer used by the school.

Neil and some of the Thornhill's footballers met up with Jean at Bede Sixth Form and presented her with the kits. She was delighted with the substantial gift, and is sure that the boys of Shekinah House will absolutely love and be so proud to receive these strips from Thornhill School.

Jean said "A great big thank you for this fabulous donation of the many football kits.
Every boy in Shekinah house will be able to "own" their own shirt, it will mean so much to the boys in India."

It's a pleasure for Thornhill to support such a worthwhile project, and we look forward to receiving pictures of the Thornhill kit being used by footballers so far from home.
