THORNHILL PICKS UP SECOND AWARD FOR THEIR COMMITMENT TO EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY.

At a ceremony at Gosforth Park Marriott Hotel, Thornhill School were announced winners in the 2014 North East Equality Awards.

We scooped the award only a week after our success in the national NASUWT Arts and Minds competition, aimed at promoting race equality and diversity in schools.

Mr  Hallworth, said,  'The equality work Thornhill is engaged in with its community, both locally and internationally, is close to our hearts and to win in the category which includes colleges, universities and large commercial training organisations demonstrates the value with which people hold the projects undertaken here.'

Equality North East, the regional organisation for promoting equality, said the high quality of applications submitted for this year’s awards made choosing the winners a difficult process.
