Year 9 pupils reunited with former pupil Kayley Ede to celebrate 70 years since the end of World War 2.
A small group of GCSE music pupils went to Barnes Court Care home to sing World War 2 songs to the residents to celebrate VE Day. Accompanying the pupils was former pupil Kayley Ede who has set up her own business, Kayley cares and sings as a vintage singer entertaining older people in Care Homes. It was fantastic for pupils to work with Kayley witness at first-hand how you can make your own business from your musical talent. Miss Proud’s Year 9 classes had made cupcakes for the event and they were greatly enjoyed by the residents. Thornhill pupils demonstrated their caring nature as they sang and talked to the residents and enjoyed the rare opportunity to talk with an original “Land Girl”.
Well done to all pupils, singers and cupcake makers you should be very proud.
