Thornhill Academy GCSE Results
Thornhill Academy is pleased to celebrate the achievement by its students in their GCSEs and other qualifications this summer.
Whilst there are many successes from so many students there are some success stories which demonstrate the elite levels of academic performance.
Eleven of our students are progressing with Top Grades in 5 or more of their qualifications. Special congratulations go to Lamya who has achieved 6 grade 9’s in a range of her subjects.
Our students are progressing onto varied and exciting pathways at a range of local schools and colleges for their Post 16 education and training. We have an increasing number of pupils progressing to level 3 qualifications and following academic A Level pathways.
This year, following the cancellation of exams, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.
Mr Redford, the Academy’s headteacher said: “We are immensely proud of the work and achievements of all our students. They have shown such resilience and have worked hard for what they have achieved, especially after such a difficult and disrupted year. Our teachers have also worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
