Financial Education

Financial Education Provision Statement

Thornhill Academy believes that all young people need to be equipped with the knowledge and understanding they need to inform their attitudes to finance. This includes practice in managing money, making well-informed choices in their current and future lives in order to achieve their goals.

At Thornhill Academy we develop a holistic approach by linking finance education to all aspects of school life in and out of lessons. This in turn leads our students to progress confidently onto their next best steps.

Financial Education is used as a catch-all term covering everything to do with understanding and managing finance in a progressive and age-appropriate manner. This is delivered through discreet lessons as well as being linked to careers, personal and social education, citizenship, character development and rewards.
